How can I get my new puppy to stop chewing everything in sight?

You must keep a good eye on your new pet. They like to chew because they're bored, or need to be busy. But also they are teething and it feels good to chew down on something hard. I always suggest that any new puppy needs a Kong. These are hard rubber toys that you can fill with puppy stuffing (which you can purchase at Ruby & Maggie's). Stuff the kong really well, and put it overnight in your freezer. When it's time for the puppy's toy kong, they will love it. They'll work so hard chewing and licking and sucking-which alleviates the pain from teething, and will keep them so busy, they won't remember to chew on anything else. But always keep your eye on them, puppy's like to chew on electrical wires and cable cords. You absolutely do not want that to happen. Good luck, and enjoy the newest member of your family. I'm excited for you.

Q: How old should a puppy be when it's taken from its mother?
A: The safest age for a puppy to leave its mother is 8 weeks. The puppy should be well nurtured while feeding on its mother, and ready to start the next chapter of its life.
